Academic Programs
The faculty and staff of the Sacramento State Geology Department are committed to providing the best geological education available anywhere. We meet this commitment through high-quality teaching, close student-faculty interaction, undergraduate and graduate research, and an emphasis on field geology.
We offer B.A. and B.S. degrees in Geology and a B.A. degree in Earth Science. We also offer a Master of Science degree in Geology, with student opportunities in applied hydrogeology, aqueous geochemistry, engineering geology, geophysics, groundwater modeling, igneous petrology, mineralogy, sedimentology & stratigraphy, structure & tectonics, surficial processes, and volcanology.
